Planning

Winnetka Hockey Club

The club did not have a strategic plan and was having some difficulty in fully understanding its strategic position in the local and State amateur hockey system, and greater community of Winnetka. They needed greater agreed consensus on what kind of club they were, and who they primarily served and decided a strategic plan was the best way to capture that. So they reached out to us.

Hand-in-glove with the Winnetka Hockey Club Board of Directors, we delved deep into consultation with the club’s stakeholder base, particularly the parents of the its youth players, to uncover some important truths about where the club was, and where it collectively wanted to be. This way, we could develop a targeted strategic plan that defines what Winnetka Hockey Club stands for, and lays out what needs to be done to make its ambition a reality.

“We selected Capitis Consulting based largely on the quality of strategic plans we had seen from them in the market in the past, and on the excellent approach they take to developing them. This was particularly important for us as our planning exercise was really a journey of self-discovery for our club, as well as a call to action on what we need to do. We couldn’t be happier with the result. We have a clear direction, a renewed purpose, and the buy-in and support from our stakeholders (particularly our players and their parents) that gives us a firm mandate to follow through on.”
